Tulamashzavod open Joint Stock Company is one of the large-scale enterprises within the Russian military industrial complex. Keeping on glorious traditions of Tula gunsmiths, the company has been producing weapons for many years to arm the land forces and the navy.

One of the fields of Tulamashzavod’s activities is production of 23 and 30 mm calibre automatic guns for armoured vehicles, aircrafts, helicopters, air-defence systems. The guns are mounted on infantry combat vehicles BMP-2, BMP-3, BMP-3K, armoured personnel carrier BTR-80A, assault vehicles BMD-2, BMD-3, BMD-4, self-propelled antiaircraft systems ZU-23, SHILKA, TUNGUSKA. Many models of modern helicopters such as Mi-28, Ka-50 Black Shark, Ka-52 Alligator as well as aircrafts such as fighter-bombers MiG-28 and MiG-28K are equipped with different models of 30 mm guns produced by Tulamashzavod JSC.

Traditional field of activity of Tulamashzavod JSC is output of artillery defense systems for various types of ships: 30-mm gun mounts АК-306, АК-630М and the unique missile-gun CIWS Kashtan. Production of small-caliber systems is one of the most popular now. These systems are mounted on surface ships of all classes ranging from patrol boats to cruiser-carriers.

Produced since the beginning of the 80th are high-accuracy laser-guided antitank missiles 3UBK10 and 3UBK10М . Their features are launch through the gun barrel which has a number of advantages. The latest models of these missiles are equipped with tandem warhead to pierce the dynamic armour protection of modern tanks.

Tulamashzavod defense products compete successfully with their foreign analogues. A number of prospective articles is being developed together with leading designers of Russian defense equipment. These articles have already been appreciated by Russian and foreign specialists.

Tulamashzavod JSC produces the following articles:

• General-purpose small-size single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engines (rated power 8-9.5 kW, rated rpm 3,000 min-1 and 3,600 min-1, dry weight 58 kg) to be used as drives for electric units, compressors, municipal and construction facilities, minitractors, water transport, self-contained units with round-the-clock operating mode under conditions of low and high ambient temperatures or inside closed spaced rooms, for various low-capacity transport facilities as well as for built-in onboard power supply of defense systems.
• Pneumatic rock drills PP60NV and PP80NV for drilling vertical, horizontal and inclined blast-holes in rocks and other materials of any hardness under conditions of mine, quarry, tunneling, during construction and exploration works.
• Universal telescopic pusher leg UBTU-1 to mount the pneumatic rock drills and to provide pushing force within the wide range of drilling angles.
• Industrial lasers, laser processing systems for cutting, welding, hole perforation, engraving within the range of power from 50 through 1,500 W, laser dosimeters, medical laser equipment.
